We believe that the green space where the project is located should be preserved as much as possible in terms of its urban qualities. It should serve as a space for the residents and the surrounding neighborhood environment. Its character as an open space, distinct from the Chaussée de Louvain, and at the same time as a finishing touch to the small neighborhood around Rue Destrier, should be maintained. This is why we believe that permeability is key to preserving its character, and therefore, we propose 'loose' buildings that can be easily arranged while respecting the existing trees and the vegetal character of the surroundings.
The floors in the entrance areas will be raised by about 50 cm, so that the dwellings have a certain elevation with respect to the surrounding gardens, thus increasing their privacy.
The floors are proposed to be permeable, except in areas of vehicular traffic, using concrete paving stones and brick flooring similar to those used on the facades of the first floor. This will guarantee a biotope covering at least 60% of the total surface area.
